The Affiliate Marketing Industry is worth a whopping $12 billion as of now. According to some statistics, 81% of the businesses rely on Affiliate Programs to increase their revenue.
But Affiliate marketing is not for everyone. It needs a lot of skill, effort, and patience to achieve success and make it a source of Passive Income.
Fortunately, you can start learning it online with many free affiliate marketing courses. In order to learn faster and get an edge over others, people are willing to try out any and every paid course online! Now the question is: Are these Affiliate Marketing Courses really worth it?
It was back in August 2020 when I faced this question for the first time. One of my followers asked me, “Sir, Are affiliate marketing courses worth it?”
Soon, I realized that this question was not on his mind alone. There are too many people who want to start with Affiliate Business, and they also have the same question.
But I’m not surprised.
The Affiliate Marketing Industry is growing at a swift pace. Many marketers are coming up with their own courses. Also, many people claim that they will teach people Affiliate Marketing if they join their team.
But are these people trustworthy? With scammers and frauds floating online, is it safe to trust anyone who makes such claims?
So, I decided to check some of these courses myself to understand whether they are actually worth the time and money.
What was my experience?
I started my research on Udemy, ClickBank, and Other networks and tried some of these courses to get an idea. My main motive was to know - how these courses could help beginners learn Affiliate Marketing.
What did I find?
First, let me tell you about some of the Cheaper Affiliate Marketing Programs that I tried. I found most of them just covered the basic concepts without much detail. A few also give a bit of Bonus Content but not very useful.
A majority of them were focused on a single affiliate network like Amazon or ClickBank. If you want to start with a single specific affiliate platform, such courses can be a good option for you.
However, some affiliate marketing courses really made me angry?. Why, if you ask?
Because these courses had some random people promote (I would say spam) their affiliate link and just showed their earnings. They claim that they are affiliate marketers, and they would teach affiliate marketing. If you have an affiliate link, it doesn’t mean you are an affiliate marketer.
I strongly recommend staying away from such so-called ‘marketers’, if you are serious about affiliate marketing. These programs are not legitimate and mostly contain just garbage inside their program. In short, they are just scams!
Although I would like to mention, there were also a few really good courses, even from beginners’ point of view. But these courses can be heavy on your pocket. If you don’t have enough budget to start, these courses are not for you.
I would like to suggest that if you are a beginner and are on a tight budget, start your journey with basic Affiliate courses, and then once you start making money, you can opt for the expensive courses. You can also try out several free Affiliate Marketing Tutorials and Programs which are available online to start learning.
Remember, it is extremely essential to learn your basics right and then follow it with the suitable action and implementation.
Why I believe Affiliate Marketing Courses are required
Let me tell you one thing; Affiliate marketing is not easy as it looks like. If you are going to learn it without a mentor or a course, it could lead to a waste of significant efforts, time, and money from your end.
Contrary to that, if you learn it under the mentorship of an expert or with the help of a course, you tend to learn faster. It helps you understand the tactics and gain knowledge through the experience of your mentor.
Now, If you implement each and every tactic they teach and modify it appropriately, your chances of succeeding at affiliate marketing are really high.
I personally started learning this online business, under the mentorship of two great people: Gaurav Madaan and Saurabh Bhatnagar. Before that, I only knew that we could make money online with Amazon Affiliates.
There paid courses and mentorship helped me learn the basics quickly. I advanced faster than others and was able to make my first income via affiliates within the first three months itself!
Affiliate marketing is a practice where you need to keep learning new things. Every day a new online marketer or affiliate marketer comes up with something new, which can increase your performance in this industry.
So, it is best to start with a course where you can learn the basics entirely and thoroughly. Learn the art of content marketing from it so that you can advance your knowledge faster and become a super affiliate.
How to choose the right Affiliate Marketing Course
After testing various courses, I have learned some ways to figure out how to choose the right affiliate marketing course. These strategies will not just protect you from getting trapped in scams, but also in moving ahead with better courses that add tremendous value to your skillset.
No Shortcuts:
First things first, Affiliate Marketing is not a ‘Get Rich in 7 Days’ scheme! There is no shortcut in Affiliate Marketing. It takes considerable time and effort to achieve success. You might need to do a lot of work just to make your first sale.
Always beware of those marketers and courses, which claim you can learn affiliate marketing and start making money within a few days or a month. Those courses are most probably not legitimate but hype to lure potential students.
History & Reputation of the Course Instructor:
Knowing a bit about your teacher will never harm you! You don’t want someone inexperienced to lead you. Do proper research about the course instructor name on Google, its Youtube Channel, Affiliate site, and LinkedIn profile.
Also, check what did the instructor do in the past? What is his history? What do people say about the instructor?
Check the Testimonials:
It can be tough to verify whether the testimonials are legitimate or just fake. Still do the same research on the people giving Testimonials. Try finding a bit about what they do now and how did they start. Also, try to understand if the testimonials are relevant to your requirement or not.
Search for a Product Review
Whatever course you are applying for, always look for its reviews on Google and Youtube. Many unbiased and genuine reviewers will reveal all the things these vendors are hiding.
Product reviewers also show you what is actually inside these courses, whether it really works or not, and if it does, then how. Their honest reviews will help you decide whether or not the course is worth your money.
Always opt for a Trial, if available
Some courses online come with a short trial version. With that, you can get the course access for a limited period, by paying a very little amount, or sometimes even for free.
You must join these course trials and analyze them properly. You can also inquire about other batchmates of yours about their experience to get a better idea.
Refund Policy
A good product vendor always gives a refund policy because he knows that the product is good, and people won’t want a refund! This is a basic rule for every product on the internet.
Not giving a refund for the product can be because of two reasons: either the vendor doesn’t have enough trust in their own product, or it might be to avoid possible content piracy issues, where the buyer can keep the product copy. In that case, the vendor must come up with a solution because ‘No Refund’ is never the right option.
Did I find any Course?
The answer is Yes and No! Before joining the paid courses and mentorship, even I started just like you. I searched online extensively on YouTube as well as Blogs, but couldn’t find a way. That is when I decided that I will go for a Paid Course!
The best course I found so far, which literally taught me each and everything, is Timeline Domination. I personally recommend Timeline Domination because it is ‘the’ complete course for every online marketer. But I also know for a fact that it is not easily affordable for most beginners.
